Folsher Photography Studio in Jeffreys Bay decided to broaden their horizon and make their professional photography services available to towns near Jeffreys Bay and in the Eastern Cape region.

Jeffreys Bay in the Eastern Cape is one of the larger towns in the Eastern Cape – known worldwide for the best surfing waves and it’s long, white, sandy beaches. As a result it is a favorite holiday destination. It is also a hub for the larger region (Kouga and Eastern Cape) and therefore offers services that the smaller towns in the region can not always offer. After working for a short time as a photographer in Jeffreys Bay, Tiaan Folscher (owner and photographer of Folscher Photography) became aware of the need for a specialist photographer in other towns of the region. To fulfill this need, he decided to broaden the horizons of his professional wedding photography service (“Folscher Photography”).

Asked why he specializes in photography, Tiaan quotes one of the great photographers Aaron Siskind: “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on camera is captured forever… And it remembers the little things, long after you have forgotten everything”. According to Tiaan he is always designing, creating or capturing special moments. Full of human pathos. With the main goal that people will afterward be able to look at the pictures and recall these moments…. see it… feel it… relive it! Again and again.

According to Tiaan these captured memories are also (when people get older) part of what gives colour and vibrance to their existence. And it is (especially then) that moments that were captured professionally will add extra flavour to the memories.

As this is true for most people, he decided to make his professional photography services available to the areas surrounding Jeffreys Bay, that is, to smaller towns in the Kouga, Langkloof, and Eastern Cape regions. And to Tiaan it is not only a question of making his services available. It as about becoming a (wedding) photographer to people in Humansdorp, Hankey, Uitenhage, Joubertina, Plettenberg Bay, Patensie, Kirkwoord, and all the smaller towns in the Eastern Cape region.

Although he specializes in wedding photography, Tiaan is a professional photographer trained to visually capture and document any special event (family shoots, baby shoots, birthday shoots, etc), that is, events where individuals, couples, families and friends make memories that they would like to cherish long after the happening itself.

When he does the work. Tiaan is (according to himself) a sort of background kind of photographer. And somewhere between photojournalism and capturing candid moments, he finds the magic moments that capture the soul and spirit of any event.
